Number 10

The Internet is vital for the dissemination of newfound knowledge, for the acceleration of our spiritual evolution, and to facilitate the additive potential of conscious intent. One reason for the Internet’s profound impact is that it mirrors the way our brains store and access information: there is no discrete center of processing, and nodes are widely interconnected. This structure allows us to extend, associate, and correlate knowledge—globally and almost instantaneously. Some theorize that the Internet may actually be a protoglobal mind, an entelechy, with power and potential that far exceeds the sum of its parts.

Like all technologies, the Internet has positive and negative repercussions—it can disseminate both enlightenment and hatred. But in the long run, the scales tend to tip in the direction of enlightened thought. As with the experiment involving neighboring populations of birds, sudden forced proximity (even at a virtual level on the Internet) will lead to initial conflict. But in the long term, this unrestricted intermingling of thought will serve to promote coexistence. Such globally accessible systems tend to be consensus driven and self-purifying.
